PhD Title : Cross-layer Perceived Quality of Service (QoS) Control for new and emerging multimedia services (VoIP)

The aim of  my research project is to develop novel cross-layer perceived quality of service (QoS) control mechanisms for new and emerging multimedia services (e.g. VoIP and IPTV). The project will contribute to the on-going research studies on video and voice quality at the University of Plymouth especially the new FP7 project “ADAMANTIUM”. The project will involve a careful evaluation of the voice and video quality in mobile networks in order to develop new cross layer QoS control architectures to cope with the existing limitations in current perceptual QoS control mechanisms in telecommunications and mobile networks.
